IMPORTANT PARRYING SHIELD, LAKE CONDAH ABORIGINAL MISSION, VICTORIA, Carved and engraved hardwood (with custom stand) Lake Condah Mission Station was established in 1867 as a Church of England Mission, approximately three kilometres from the Lake. The Lake Condah area in South Western Victoria was home to the Kerrupjmara people prior to European occupation. The station was closed in 1919 after the government assumed control.
